Map Pool Shake-Up: Overpass In, Anubis Out
Season Three comes with a notable change to the Active Duty Map Pool:
- Overpass returns to competitive play
- Anubis has been removed
This change is sure to impact map strategies at all levels of play, with teams needing to readjust for Overpass’s unique pacing and angles.
Gameplay Updates: Fire Spreads Faster, MP9 Nerfed, CTs Get Economic Boost
Valve has introduced several gameplay changes aimed at refining the meta:
- Incendiary Grenade Buff: Fire now spreads faster, making it more effective at blocking fast-paced T-side rushes.
- MP9 Nerf: The budget-friendly SMG now has less accurate jumping shots and a tougher spray pattern, reducing its dominance in close-range CT play.
- CT Economy Tweak: Counter-Terrorists now receive a teamwide monetary bonus for every T eliminated—win or lose. This change encourages more aggressive CT play and helps sustain their economy in tighter matches.
Trade Protection System Introduced
A major security feature is now live: Trade Protected Items. If your account is compromised or you fall victim to a scam, Valve now allows you to reverse all Counter-Strike item trades from the last 7 days.
Players can access this feature by reviewing their Trade History on their Steam account. Full details and FAQ can be found via Steam Support.
Season Three feels like a focused update: fewer flashy changes, more balance and quality-of-life improvements. The return of Overpass is sure to shift the tactical landscape, and the economy tweaks may create more comeback potential in tight matches.
